This month we had one of our most popular events in the nursery: Book Week! The message of World Book Day (1st March) is that reading is a fun activity, that there are many different types of books such as stories, information, magazines, dictionaries etc and that reading about a favourite topic leads to happiness (our theme for the year). Children are invited to bring a favourite book from home to share with others on any day.

Acorns Book Week 2018 focused on helping the children develop their imagination by learning about fantasy characters. We know that happy children are creative, imaginative and think outside the box! Each group focused on a different story in order to help the children learn in the right way for their age.

School Years had a special guest, illustrator Paula Duta. She talked to the children about her job, showed them some of her work and created on the spot a book cover starting from their ideas. At the end she encouraged the children to make their own book cover. It was a very interactive and inspiring session!

Our celebration concluded with our annual Book Fair, where parents and children had the opportunity to enjoy special activities, buy books for family and friends and enjoy our partners’ goodies.
