World Food Day is always an opportunity for the children to continue learning about being healthy, which kind of foods make up a healthy diet and to discover some less common food items.

Baby Acorns explored a mix of frozen vegetables, they baked their own fruit cake and banana bread.

Rainbows in Aviatiei nursery discussed food and where it comes from – how some foods are grown and others come from animal products, as well as which foods are healthy. They talked about their favourite foods and then, after singing the Rainbow song, the children sorted fruit and vegetables according to their colour and they were involved in observational drawing of real fruit and vegetables.
In Popa Soare, Rainbows learned about Super Foods by making a link with the previous weeks in which they had learned about the Mind-Body connection. They met Super food characters such as the Atomic Apple and Speedy Cheese and learned how different foods benefit different parts of the body.

Shiny Stars in Popa Soare baked healthy carrot muffins by smelling, tasting and mixing and taking turns to add ingredients.
