A few weeks ago, not only did we conclude the topic on changes and growth, but we also talked about Easter and why people use to celebrate it with eggs!

Due to that, Baby Acorns made eggs from play dough and hunted for eggs hidden around the room, after which they used the rhyme Humpty Dumpty to find out real how eggs crack and break. In creative, they printed egg shapes using car board tubes and decorated an egg template by dipping small pom-poms in paint.

Shiny Stars hunted for eggs hidden in the garden, while in creative they decorated an Easter egg using puffy paint and made patterns using their fingers, some wonderful Easter cards and a bunny mask.

Rainbows learnt about the life cycle of a chick and sequenced pictures in the right order to show their understanding, also learning how eggs are a symbol of new life which is associated with Easter. In creative, they made a chick craft, a rabbit silhouette and an Easter card and designed a symmetrical Easter egg on the computer.

Early Explorers learnt about how people celebrate Easter at this time of year and found out about some symbols which are most commonly associated with this festival. In creative, they made Easter cards and used what they know about patterns to design their own symmetrical Easter egg.
