Acorns Book Week is one of our most popular and successful annual events!

During Book Week we joined with other nurseries and schools around the world in celebrating World Book Day – a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) of reading. The main aim of World Book Day is to encourage children to explore the pleasures of books and reading by providing them with the opportunity to have a book of their own.

Throughout Acorns Book Week we focused on the idea of “growing better by reading” and the theme of ‘growth’ was also reflected in the books that the children read throughout the week. As last year, each group ‘adopted’ a story linked to the theme:

Acorns Book Fair was held both in Popa Soare and Aviatiei. We had activities for children and parents, snacks, and books for sale for families and friends. Each child enrolled in Acorns received a unique Acorns Book Sack filled with resources to use at home, which encourage reading or writing skills.
