We are all different, but really the same – is the message behind Multicultural Week and this year we focused on discovering how light is celebrated around the world. Guests from different countries came to talk to the children: Liran Dagan explained the meaning of Hannukah.
Vijay Krishnan told them about Diwali, Jebii Neagu showed photos of Kenya.
Ana Maria Caia explained about Thailand and its light festival. Dressing up costumes from different countries, listening to traditional music, painting, reading books about different countries all helped children from every age group learn more about the significance of light and how difference is something to be celebrated rather than feared.
