In Acorns Aviatiei, the children enjoyed a festive atmosphere with lots of music and Christmas related activities. We started off our Christmas season by decorating our Christmas tree together with parents and children, and turning on the Christmas lights. Throughout the month the teachers prepared a collection of festive activities, designed to keep the children learning as they celebrated the merriest holiday of the year.
Baby Acorns learned about Christmas by making puffy paint stockings which we used to decorate the windows; together they painted and decorated Santa’s North Pole house, created unique snowflakes by using paint and tape, and prepared special surprises for our Christmas Party: special dough Christmas trees to put on their tree at home.
Shiny Stars built a large Snowman and sang “I’m a little snowman” song, they practiced patterning while they made holiday cards for their parents, they used popcorn to decorate Santa’s beard, painted decorative Candy Canes and used glitter to make them look festive, and learned about measurement with big and small snowflakes which they cut themselves!
We were very lucky to have some snow, which the children loved playing in! They enjoyed making snow balls, throwing the snow up, singing “Little snowflake” and making snow angels.
All the children and teachers had fun during our pyjama party, they made and drank hot cocoa, listened to carols and read their favorite Christmas stories.
