We celebrated Count your Buttons Day for the first time; it was a great opportunity for all our children to count and sort buttons, to talk about colour, their shape and to be creative.

Baby Acorns made spaghetti buttons cupcakes, Rainbows created their own buttons tree by sticking them on as leaves, Shiny Stars had a lovely circle time when they counted their buttons and got physical by jumping on big buttons.

Early Explorers had a lot of fun talking about the buttons they had brought from home, comparing size, shape and colour, counting them and matching them to a number. We found that buttons can be fun and versatile learning resource which everyone enjoyed.

In the Acorns Nursery location from Aviatiei, the children loved to go on a “button hunt” using kitchen tools and cornflour and to show each other their favourite buttons and use them for creating a button tree art.
